It's hard not to ... ( 1 week ago by bjchadwick01)
It's hard not to call the attitude like its acting, which is childish.
I praise everyone having their own opinion, but just nonsense comments like 'oh don't touch Burton' is just silly to me, giving the tired stereotype that Burton is a fad for die hard fangirls, it's hard to be taken seriously being known as a 'fad'.
Yeah, but... does ... ( 1 week ago by transfan1988)
Yeah, but... does it continue?
Fangirls. Fangirls ... ( 1 week ago by sweeneysbabe63)
Fangirls. Fangirls are those chicks who are obsessed with actors that are nothing but aperance, the girls that would burst into tears at the sight of this famous person for no other reason than he's famous, or "hot". And i can assure you my friend, i don't think Burton's "hot", talented, yes, but not hot, and who said Burton's a fad? how? Burton is just this person that's work and mind make things seem easier and more beautiful than they are sometimes, I don't see that as a fad.
The term fangirl is ... ( 1 week ago by bjchadwick01)
The term fangirl is a female who is obsessed over some type of person/media which could be based on the 'hotness' or the thoughts/actions.You can't tell me that Nightmare Before Christmas hasn't become an emo kid staple.
These are the same kids who claim to love burton but have ONLY seen that movie, or the more recent Corpse Bride or Sweenty Todd, both I like.
Burton is a fad of depressed teenagers; same as Smith becoming a fad for the stoner teenagers, itcomes with the popularity.
Who says you have ... ( 1 week ago by sweeneysbabe63)
Who says you have to be depressed, or emo to love Tim Burton? I'm neither, but i'm a huge admirer of him, that's just a stupid steryotype that people stuck on him. Think of how steryotypical you're being before you speak. And i have seen many of Burton's movies: Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Big Fish, and yes, the ever popular Nightmare Before Christmas are some of my favorites, i'm not someone that claims they're deicated to something they're not.
Yeah, there's ... ( 1 week ago by ska2808)
Yeah, there's another collection of lectures on Kevin Smith: Evening Harder, although it is slightly more coherent than this collection (i.e. the first half is in Canada, the second half in London as opposed to all over the place)
I think the first half is on youtube.
Once again, you ... ( 1 week ago by bjchadwick01)
Once again, you completely missed my point.
I wasn't calling you emo. I was stating that Burton is a fad for the emo crowd. Maybe you should read the answers youre given fully before YOU speak.
That said, Ive also seen AND liked those movies you listed, which is why I do NOT like the obsessive ones who've only seen one or two movies <--which was my point.
Too much energy over this topic - you don't like what Smith said, and that's fine, we'll agree to disagree.
no i wasn't saying ... ( 1 week ago by sweeneysbabe63)
no i wasn't saying you were calling me emo, i was saying that it's very streotyped that only emo people like tim burton, and i agree, i don't like those people who obsess over things they know nothing about. Sorry if in past comments i sounded stupid, i just realized this is in fact youtube, and none of this matters. thanks for the debate

how can you possibly think tim burton is tallented ? for example a film review "Tim burton takes on a claasic tale and put his darker slant on in" do you know wich film i'm on about ?
Just about every film he has ever made he's not original.
what about "Edward ... ( 5 days ago by sweeneysbabe63)
what about "Edward Scissorhands"? That wasn't origanal? Or "Nightmare Before Christmas"? Or "Ed Wood"? I don't see anyone else going out making movies about guys with scissors for hands, or a skelleton that wants to celebrate christmas, or a Biopic on a Cross-Dressing director. Do you? And his books are really awesome too. The Melencholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories, you can't tell me that's not origanal
Why do the audience ... ( 4 days ago by pancakeday2006)
Why do the audience applause the sentiment that Tim Burton does not read comics (esp. K. Smith's). Adults should not gloat about reading comic books.
Batman 1989 was better than anything Kevin Smith has made.
rofl dude were you ... ( 4 days ago by MasochistMunkey)
rofl dude were you not listening he said Tim Burton not reading comic books resulted in Batman (the movie) when you watched that movie back in the day it was awesome watch it now and tell me that it is still the best listen next time jackass
I was listening sir ... ( 3 days ago by pancakeday2006)
I was listening sir. My point is that Kevin Smith may know his comic books, but, because he's nearly 40, it's not something to be proud of. I maintain that Burton is a far better film maker than Kevin Smith. Granted, Smith can write quite good dialogue though.
Batman '89 is still the second greatest Batman movie.

Jesus. This is absurd. Two very slightly derogatory comments about Kevin Smith and the mindset of ADULTS who read comics and I recieve negative comments.
A lesson learnt - Never annoy fanboys.

by the way, Tim is a lot more talented than Kevin...
Why did they have ... ( 2 days ago by badger5079)
Why did they have to cut him off at the end? That guy in a suit said it's just the way this is set up...was there supposed to be somebody else on afterwards? Or were they just accomodating the administrators who were due to clock out and go home?
I like both Burton ... ( 1 day ago by bitchphuckit)
I like both Burton and Smith. I don't think one's better than the other, they both have totally different ways that they write, produce, and direct. They're works are two different genres all together.
Though, Kevin Smith is funnier, but
Tim Burton is more sophisticated.
I think those are the only two things that are fact.

funny thing is that I liked the Burton version for "Planet of the Apes"...

You are a fucking moron. Begins and Dark Knight are in NO WAY related to the other Batman movies, it's a reboot. Are you fucking retarded? Yeah right after the Dark Knight Joker another guy who called himself Joker but had a completely different origin came and fucked with Batman! YEAH! MAKES SENSE! Dumbass.
