Whether this guy is right or wrong doesn't matter. THe fact of the matter is a lot of PDs are 'cracking' down not for safety but because city, county, and state coffers are running awful dry of funds and need some easy money to fill the till back up.

Simple solution...obey traffic laws. They're for your own safety anyway. Why do you need to speed? To get there 30 seconds earlier? Is it really worth it?

Rural interstate. 10 miles between exits...straight stretch, good visibility, good weather. No reason to stop a motorist doing 80 if the speed limit is 70. Nothing to do with safety.

Can't think like that. If you keep pushing the envelope and making excuses, there cannot be any law and order. Otherwise, you could try and BS your way out of any situation. Sometimes you need black and white laws.

That officer showed grace and restraint in a tough (and comical) situation. He probably could have cited Mr. Potty Mouth for verbal assault and possibly physical threat -the rough grabbing thing he was doing could have been construed as a threat.
